Castle Rock was recently ranked the seventh fastest-growing city in the nation by the U.S. census, the seventh wealthiest county in the U.S. by Forbes, and ranked fourth in Quality of Life and Best Place to Live by Money Magazine.
Located midway between Denver and Colorado Springs, Castle Rock gets its name from the very prominent castle-shaped butte near town.
Downtown Castle Rock’s Festival Park was recently renovated and features a landing pavilion, splash pad, fire pits, open lawn, creek-side picnic area, and more. Nearby is the 320-acre Phillip S. Miller Park, which has batting cages, a golf simulator, swimming pools, hiking and biking trails, and is where Snowsports 365 is located, a year-round snow sport complex.
Castle Rock’s fledgling brewery scene includes the new self-service Astro Tap House, Wild Blue Yonder Brewing and Maddie’s Biergarten. For coffee aficionados, Crowfoot Valley Coffee is a locally-owned coffee shop which roasts their own coffee in-house. Castle Rock’s culinary scene brings a blend of American, Mexican, and Italian flavors including Union Bistro’s crab cakes, Guadalajara’s chili rellenos, and Siena at the Courtyard’s Chicken Parmesan.
Within Castle Rock is The Village at Castle Pines, an exceptional residential community with first-class amenities. Castle Pines North open spaces include Elk Ridge Park, Reuter-Hess Reservoir, and smaller parks scattered throughout the city. Residents of Castle Rock often see herds of Elk in the open space on the north side of town.
